Sixth Annual JFS Executive Luncheon to Feature Political Novelist Christopher Buckley on May 11

~Annual Fundraiser Set to Attract Hundreds to DCPA’s Seawell Grand Ballroom

Colorado nonprofit Jewish Family Service of Colorado (JFS) is hosting the sixth annual JFS Executive Luncheon and fundraiser, featuring special guest Christopher Buckley, “the quintessential political novelist of his time,” according to Fortune magazine. The luncheon is Tuesday, May 11, at the Donald R. Seawell Grand Ballroom at the Denver Center for the Performing Arts. JFS expects nearly 500 Denver-area professionals to attend this year’s event, which is open to the public. Event chairs include Dean Prina, M.D., Cary Chapman, Peggy Mayer, and Marc Spritzer.

WHAT: The JFS Executive Luncheon is a fun, entertaining event for Denver’s business community. Past luncheons have featured dynamic, well-known personalities such as Dave Barry, Rick Reilly and Frank Deford. All proceeds from the event support local community programs offered through JFS in its four key areas of mental health counseling, senior services, disability and employment services, and family safety net services.

WHO: Featured speaker Christopher Buckley, winner of the Thurber Prize for American Humor, is the author of 13 books, including the 2008 best-seller, “Supreme Courtship.” His book “Thank You for Smoking” was developed into a critically acclaimed major motion picture.

As with his writing, Buckley’s talks provide a uniquely humorous perspective on current events and culture that will amuse, enlighten, and stimulate every audience. Marked by a savvy understanding of the truth behind the headlines and a perceptive wit, Buckley delivers a comedic look at politics and world affairs.
