~Annual Fundraiser Supports Service Dog Training for People with Disabilities
DENVER – Sept. 12, 2006 – Canine Partners of the Rockies (CaPR), a nonprofit organization providing highly skilled service dogs to Colorado children and adults with disabilities other than blindness, will present Dog Daze After Dark 2006 on Saturday, Oct. 21, from 6 to 10 p.m. at the Colorado History Museum in Denver. Attendees will enjoy an evening of food, drinks, entertainment and the opportunity to participate in live and silent auctions to support CaPR and its programs. Dog Daze After Dark is the major annual fundraiser for CaPR, providing support for the rigorous training program needed to prepare a dog for a lifetime of service.

~Hundreds of Volunteers Will Scour 16 Rivers Statewide in Massive Cleanup Effort
BOULDER, Colo. — Sept. 6, 2006 — Colorado Trout Unlimited (CTU), a nonprofit organization dedicated to conserving, protecting and restoring Colorado’s coldwater fisheries, will lead its third annual Great Colorado Rivers Cleanup on Saturday, Sept. 16, to remove trash and debris from river banks and channels throughout the state. CTU and volunteers from throughout the community will patrol designated river stretches near Aspen, Basalt, Boulder, Denver, Durango, Carbondale, Estes Park, Evergreen, Fort Collins, Glenwood Springs, Golden/Idaho Springs, Granby, Grand Junction, Lake George, Longmont, Montrose, Pueblo, Silverthorne and Salida to remove trash and elevate the health of Colorado’s water sources.
