Businesses to Learn Innovative Marketing Strategies at April 26 Workshop

PARKER, Colo. — April 12, 2005 — The Parker Chamber of Commerce is pleased to welcome Mike Waid & Associates, Inc., a Parker-based Internet and marketing consulting firm, as the featured presenter at its April Brown Bag program on Tuesday, April 26. President Mike Waid, who has more than a decade of experience in advertising, public relations and marketing, will discuss his three-pronged approach to innovative business marketing. The presentation, which is free and open to the public, is from noon to 1 p.m. at the University Center at Chaparral at 15653 Brookstone Dr., off Chambers and Lincoln.

~Annual Parade Will Celebrate Parker Chamber’s 40th Anniversary

PARKER, Colo. — April 7, 2005 — In honor of its 40th anniversary, the Parker Chamber of Commerce has big plans for this summer’s Parker Country Festival Parade, including more entertaining entries and visually appealing floats. The Chamber has challenged the community to create their most exciting floats for the parade, which is scheduled for Saturday, June 11.

Douglas County Home to Three Finalists for 9News Leader of the Year

~Parker Chamber of Commerce Members Honored for Community Leadership and Involvement

PARKER, Colo. — April 5, 2005 — Douglas County is home to three of the six finalists for this year’s 9News Leader of the Year Award, including Ken Bacon, president and chief executive officer of Parker Adventist Hospital; Dawna Callahan, executive director of the Parker Chamber of Commerce; and, Jim Christensen, superintendent of Douglas County School District. All three of the finalists are Parker Chamber business members or staff. Each year, the Colorado Leadership Alliance, Denver’s NBC affiliate 9News, and TIAA-CREF, a national financial services group, present the 9News Leader of the Year Award, recognizing a local leader who has made a lasting contribution to the community and the state of Colorado.
